Have you wondered why I have been so quiet lately??? Ready to find out why? Alright, I’ll tell you! As many of you have seen, I test a lot of patterns for my baby girl. I’m sure you have seen her photos on Facebook, Etsy, or even Craftsy too! Well did you know that we have been testing since birth, and that she is almost a year old now? Time is flying!! In just 12 days she will be turning one! So in celebration of her first year of life I am going to take you on a little tour of 12 amazing patterns that we tested for each month of her first year. It was really hard to only pick 12 as I loved every pattern we tested. For my designer friends that I didn’t pick, don’t worry I still love you; it was such a tough choice…
Now would you like to officially meet the birthday girl?? Let me introduce you! This little girl made quite the entrance. I barely got to the hospital in time. 15 min to spare to be exact, and that is only because my mom made me go in. Good thing too; otherwise she would have been born at home, and I just didn’t have that planned. She was born in the recovery room as
there were no labor rooms available! After two pushes I welcomed my daughter Ruth Estrella into this world. She was born at 9:16pm on August 30, weighing in at 6 lbs 13 oz and 19 inches long. I couldn’t have been happier, and neither could her brothers!
I knew when I found out I was having a girl that I just needed to make a cute coming home outfit for her. I searched and searched for the perfect outfit, and finally found 2 free patterns that really were just perfect. I came across the blog Mellysews and just fell in love with her Criss Cross Dress and Ruffle Bloomers. They both only come in a 3-6mo size so I did need to down size it in order to fit a newborn. It turned out
perfect though! Such an easy sew and so cute. I love the fact you can embellish the dress any way you choose. It is a blank canvas for creativity! As you can see from the photos I also made a headband too. For that I took a ruffle and attached it to elastic. Then I cut out a bunch of flower shapes, stacked them so that the bigger ones where on bottom and smaller ones on the top, sewed a button in the center, and then attached it to the elastic ruffle. It was just perfect for Ruth!!!
Now even though it may not be your birthday, everyone still deserves a chance to get an unbirthday gift right? Well each designer that I am featuring has generously given that pattern for a giveaway. Yes, I said GIVEAWAY!!! One lucky winner will get ALL 12 patterns. How about that for a little birthday treat? Rafflecopter will start tomorrow in the month 1 post. So get ready for Ruth’s Birthday Bash!!!! With this designer line up you won’t want to miss a post!!
